Peer Support

What is Peer Support?

Peer support is a non-clinical, accessible, support offering to individuals who may find it useful to have a person skilled in deep listening, encouragement, and shared experiences so that they can better process their emotions and occurrences in their own lives. Many folks find having a peer supporter helpful to integrate deep healing experiences, such as from meditation, holotropic breathwork, or psychedelic treatments. Although peer support is not therapy, I use a strengths-based, transcendent processing approach grounded in social work ethics and empowerment to help people find balance and direction towards their own intuitive healing pathways. I may also self-disclose my own recovery experiences and shared knowledge to foster hope and connection. My experiences, training, or education could be helpful for those going through grief, loss, trauma-processing (including complex/childhood and oppressive religious), relational dynamic issues, depression, anxiety, or injustice.

Offerings

I offer 30-minute, 60-minute, and 90-minute Peer Support Sessions which can be held over zoom or be conducted in person. I encourage all first meetings to be held in-person to make sure we are a good fit for one another. If there is any indication of clinical need throughout our time together, I will refer to a licensed therapist. My fee is $1 per minute, and I also offer a discount to those who are in financial need. *Fluffy friends are always welcome.

Psychedelic Treatment Peer Support

Psychedelics are growing in popularity for the treatment of mental health. While new treatment options being available is exciting to many of us, there are critically important things to know about this work before embarking on it. Psychedelics are sacred, powerful substances which can act as a catalyst for healing. But, they have also been connected to harm in many ways when used inappropriately or unintentionally. My experiences, training, or education could be helpful to those curious about psilocybin, DMT, ayahuasca, or MDMA. These are controlled substances in many regions of the world, however due to the growing number of clinical trials and decriminalization efforts, they are becoming more accessible.

About Psychedelic Peer Support

As a Certified Psilocybin Peer Supporter (PPS), I provide education and resources to peers looking to understand more about this modality, the research to date with it, where it may be legally accessible around the world, and ways to prevent and reduce harm that can be associated with it. In specific regions where it is legal and my credentials/training allow, I offer “sitting” to peers, where I hold space for them in a safe environment and monitor their well-being while they undergo their psychedelic experience. I received my PPS certification from PsiloHealth, where I also contributed to the training’s development in beta testing. I also have an EMBARK Psychedelic Facilitation Open Access Record of Completion. Lastly, I have acted as a psychedelic treatment trainer and training program developer under Cybin (now Helos), and GuideSite Consulting.
